CHA DD is a non–profit, parent–based organization that distributes information on ADD & coordinates more than 600 parent support groups.  It also publishes a quarterly magazine, ATTENTION!, & a  quarterly newsletter, “Chadderbox”.

Provides information on local GED classes & testing services.  They have an accommodations guide for people taking the GED who have learning disabilities.

Oregon Literacy Line                                                                                               244–3898

Refers to classes, tutors & programs that provide training in basic skills to undereducated adults. Callers can get help with reading, writing, math & GED preparation.  Make SMART program referrals for children. Provide ESL tutoring. Services are free.

Provides a half–day of learning disabilities testing to AFS clients. You may refer yourself/ or be referred through your case manager. Testing will be scheduled on a Friday with follow–up conference to discuss results & provide recommendations. These tests are normed only for Amer./ English–speaking individuals. We regret that they are inappropriate for ESL students.

Psychological Service Center, 511 SW 10th Ste. 400                             220–0390       

Provides comprehensive testing & assessment for people with Learning Disabilities/Attention Deficit Disorder.  Cost ranges $200–$500. There is an intake fees of $25 for individual and group therapy. On Mondays at 5:00pm there is a free Smart Recovery Group Therapy session. Call Assessment Coordinator for appointment or further info.

A national non–profit organization that provides taped educational books on loan, books on diskette, library services & other educational & professional resources to individuals who cannot read standard print due to a visual, physical or perceptual disability.  Operators provide info. on: over 80,000 recorded textbooks & other classroom materials (4th grade through postgraduate levels) available for loan; the application process & fees & the certification process. Callers with learning disabilities are eligible to participate but must complete the certification requirements.  There is a registration fee.
